THURSDAY 27 MARCH 2025: Exclusive networking evening: discover the true power of green in the city!

NOA outdoor living

On 27 March 2025, NOA outdoor living opens its doors for an inspiring evening for garden architects, garden contractors, green services, and other professionals. This event, organised in collaboration with Louwers Mediagroep, is entirely dedicated to the connection between green and urban environments. Do not wait too long to register: if the enthusiasm is as great as last year, places will fill up quickly!

Breeding ground for inspiration and innovation

NOA outdoor living is not just a location, it is a creative ecosystem. This unique hub, born from the collaboration between more than 30 high-end outdoor brands, offers an exclusive experience in luxury outdoor living on the 30,000 m² site in Kruisem. From terrace coverings and integrated lighting to unique garden furniture, NOA shows professionals and customers how innovative outdoor concepts come to life.

“At NOA outdoor living, everything revolves around collaboration and inspiration,” says Catherine Degreef, manager of NOA. “It is a place where partners strengthen each other and ideas come together. Here you see in a realistic setting how indoor and outdoor living seamlessly merge. The location, the partners, the inspiration, and the network formed the perfect basis for our event with Louwers Mediagroep last year, which was fully booked in no time. This proves how valuable such a platform is for exchanging knowledge and starting new projects.”

An evening with inspiring speakers

During ‘Landscapes & Urban Design Connected’, three leading speakers share their vision and experience at the intersection of green and urban development. Let yourself be inspired by their visionary ideas on how the city of tomorrow can look:

– Prof. Steffen Nijhuis: Landscape-based urbanism

As a professor at Delft University of Technology, Steffen Nijhuis is an internationally recognised expert in sustainable urban development. His concept ‘Landscape-based Urbanism’ emphasises the importance of the landscape as the basis for urban design.

“We can use landscape logic for urban development at all scales,” says Nijhuis. He advocates for an integrated approach where climate adaptation, biodiversity, and social inclusivity are central. From urban parks to street profiles, Nijhuis shows how landscape logic makes cities more resilient, liveable, and ecologically richer. During his keynote, he will present groundbreaking projects and strategies that elevate green spaces to a higher level.

– Timo Cents: Vertical forests and complex urban spaces

Dutch landscape and urban designer Timo Cents is known for projects like Wonderwoods in Utrecht, where he literally elevated nature with vertical forests.

“Space in cities is becoming scarcer and more complex, but green plays a crucial role in the future of our urban environments,” explains Cents. His work shows how green infrastructure can be simultaneously aesthetic, functional, and sustainable. In his keynote, he will take us through the development of Wonderwoods, including the challenges and innovative solutions behind this project.

– Louis De Jaeger: Changemaker in sustainable urban development

Belgian landscape architect, entrepreneur, author, and filmmaker Louis De Jaeger is an advocate for sustainable urban transformation. His vision? Cities where humans and nature live in perfect balance.

“The future of urban planning lies in a renewed relationship between humans and nature,” states De Jaeger. In his presentation, he will share concrete strategies and future visions to make cities greener, more resilient, and more sustainable. From edible city landscapes to permaculture and innovative city parks, De Jaeger offers an inspiring view of the city of the future.
